Event Description

Celebrate the actors and behind the scene artists who worked on Nicholas Meyer's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Join professors John and Maria Jose Tenuto, authors of the best-selling, officially licensed book, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: The Making of the Classic Film" as they share this multimedia virtual presentation. More than 100 rare photographs paint the incredible picture of a company of artists whose talents combined to create one of science fiction's most critically acclaimed films. In addition to the photographs, the presentation shares trivia and little known facts about the making of the film. A special thank you to writer/director Nicholas Meyer for his permission to share these photographs and the University of Iowa Library

The couple, John and Maria Jose Tenuto, appear in episodes of the Netflix TV series The Toys that Made Us, the TV series Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek.

The couple have presented their research at the Disney/Lucasfilm Star Wars Celebration, The Official Star Trek Convention, The Saint Louis Science Center, and were invited by the towns of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada, and Riverside, Iowa, to speak about the history and making of Star Trek. Their newest book is out this August from McFarland & Company,  Please note the early start time.
