For this year's shredding event, the McHenry Public Library is partnering with the McHenry Moose Lodge #691 and the Johnsburg Public Library. There will be 2 trucks available this year!
The event will be held at the McHenry Moose Lodge from 11 am to 1 pm Please enter from the north on Johnsburg Road at the light.
Bring your sensitive documents to be shredded safely. No certificates of destruction will be issued. Only paper materials will be taken.
Please do not arrive early. It makes it difficult for others and the truck to access the parking lot
- PLEASE take time to sort your material, ensuring it all contains confidential material.
- We do NOT accept photographs, hard drives, CDs or floppy discs, credit cards, plastic-covered binders, or x-rays.
- Please REMOVE all binder clips, three-ring plastic binders, and larger metal pieces.
- The event is for residential materials only, not for businesses.
- The quantity limit is approximately equal to 4 banker boxes (12"width x 16"depth x 10" height), but you can bring them in any box or bag.
- Staples, paperclips, spiral bindings, file folders without metal, and envelope windows are fine to leave in.
- Please note that we will receive documents for shredding only until the trucks are full.
